What comes before Part B?

PART-AY!!!

On the Saturday night, all players will be given passes to the ONELOVE Smash Your Stereo CD launch at 21 Arms.

You'll receive free entry before 10pm, plus we'll have our own function room and bar tab from 8:30pm onwards.

Later on in the night, 21 Arms will be rocking, with live band DRIVE playing in the Front Bar, and DJs ACID JACKS playing in The Shed for the ONELOVE launch.

Check out Acid Jacks on Myspace

Bing Bong Cobra and Australian acid house icon Honeysmack are the Acid Jacks: a couple of heavy bass hooligans, who for sometime now have been amassing a rather impressive list of international production credits along with a heap reputable remixes. Since New York labels like Trouble & Bass Recordings and Thunder Finger were first to seize Acid Jacks’ sound, the duo have gone on to garner international acclaim with their own label Idiot House and their highly creative output. Acid Jacks have worked on productions with a who’s who of dance music’s superstars like; MSTRKRFT, Boy 8-Bit, Goose, Peaches, Drop The Lime, The Subs, Tommie Sunshine, Crookers, Alex Gopher, Tacteel and the list goes on. They might be “idiots” to a certain degree, but think again as these international purveyors of bass turn everything up to “rocking”.

Field Location and Pitch Report

B-Town Showdown will be played at Ballarat High School on Sturt Street in Alfredton. This venue also played host to the Open Division games of Southern Regionals.

Please use the entrance opposite the Park View Hotel on Sturt Street.

I went down there this afternoon to check out how the fields are looking.

Fields 1 and 2

This is BHS's main oval and is regularly watered in the summer months. The grass cover is quite good and the ground is soft without being sloppy. Drainage on this ground is superb and is not likely to flood. No holes or sprinkler covers can be found.

Fields 3, 4 and 5

After being quite dry and hard at Regionals, the winter rain has softened these grounds up to the point where they are almost as good as the main oval. The grass cover is a little patchy in some areas, but the ground is flat and will hold up well to two days of ultimate.

Field 6

This field is a "backup" field only and is not likely to be used for more than one or two games. The ground is a little firmer than the others and the grass cover is slightly thinner.

Food!

Rather than a 'traditional' frisbee lunch, local Subway stores will be supplying lunch each day. There will be a range of ham, turkey, tuna and vegetarian subs available to players.

Team lunch packs will still include other munchies, and plenty of fruit.

Water!

The ongoing drought has done a number on Ballarat's water supply, and the quality of drinking water isn't crash hot.

Local company Aquaplus has come on board and will be supplying fresh, clean, water for all players for the weekend!

There will be large barrels filled with water at every field, plus Gatorade available at Frisbee Central.
